BoBot Go - Looking Into the Outside World

By YUGEL LOSORATA–

There are some people who are always out in the open yet they cannot see the beauty appearing before them. But there are also those who can look into their inner selves so as to understand nature and life outside their windows.

bobot-goOutdoor photographer Bobot Go has a portfolio that shows wonder of God’s creations, their natural patterns and artistic designs that only someone heavenly could have produced. He has already sold a lot of his photos and published in various travel books and magazines. Such feat validates the truth that he knows how to capture panoramic views and lovely outdoor scenes that the eyes can’t resist to admire.

“The best thing about being an outdoor photographer is being with the surrounding and environment, observing people, understanding a lot about existence and life. I think it is the best therapy for people who are seeking answers,” shares Bobot who is a member of the Ayala Alabang Camera Club known for his high percentage in winning photo contests.

Apart from being an expert of travel photography, the perennial winner is also into corporate, industrial, and other photography types that simply solidify his being a certified versatile lensman. He is a capturing-the-moment shooter who knows when he is seeing something unusual or a scene that’s difficult or better said, impossible to happen again.

Bobot’s special skill paved the way for two foreigners to discover him. He was given assigments, proving again that Filipino lensman have met the standard set in global level.

“Mood really plays a lot with my photography,” he discloses. “I like shooting children while at play. I like taking their photos in the outfields; it reminds me of my happy youth life.”

Three decades back, Bobot was on a trip to the U.S. but didn’t have his own camera. He had to borrow from his brother just to be able to take some shots. Those prints that came out were ‘different from the usual.’ Thus, it seemed inevitable that he would have his first Canon camera after the trip.

He later learned more about the craft from his college friends and by joining a camera club. He also experienced assisting professional photographers in the land of milk and honey.

The father of six children and Nursing graduate is easily attracted to graphics, lines, and patterns which are noticeably present in many of his shots. He emphasizes, “An effective photography is when the viewer finds interest and wonders about the photo you have taken. If the viewer sees what attracted you to take that photo, then I think it is an effective photo.”

His happy youth is reflected much in his work as he usually freezes moments of happiness and life. He likes ‘seeing the light and how it affects the mood of the scene.’

Born Joaquin F. Go Jr., Bobot strictly noted that patience is required for one to capture what he has in his mind. Impatient people usually end up with hackwork and unable to deliver what’s needed to be seen.

Asked for his piece of advice to budding photographers, he spoke with a clear sense of wisdom. “Learn the craft well. Learn your own style.. what is important is what is inside your frame; use only the rules as a guide but not as an ultimate truth in getting good photos.”

Bobot Go surely knows the basic rules and has the skill in breaking them for good results. Besides, he knows what his passion inside and this is taking him out everywhere.
