Razorback Rocks 19-
Text and photos by KIKO GUANCO–
Whenever I hear the word “hebigat,” only one band comes to mind: Razorback.
Hebigat Sounds Volume One (1995) was the album that blew my young, impressionable mind. Razorback, along with their brother band Wolfgang, forever steered me into the dark side of all things about Pinoy rock. Razorback has become as legendary as the rock gods they have idolized from playing club gigs to shredding full-blown concerts all over the country, and even opening for foreign acts like Metallica, Silverchair, and Rage Against the Machine.

On October 17, 2009, Razorback celebrated their 19th anniversary as a band at 19 East Sucat, a venue which boasts one of the best acoustics and sound system for any type of performance. For three hours, Razorback dished out the classic songs from their hard-rocking repertoire as well as new songs from their upcoming comeback album, Three Minutes to Glory.
After 19 years, the Boars (Kevin Roy, Tirso Ripoll, Louie Talan, Brian Velasco, and Manuel Legarda) have proven their mettle for metal.
